Orlando Wedding and Portrait Photographer

Currently serving the Orlando & Central Florida area

Hello, My name is Inigo Montoya.... Wait that's not right.

I never really liked writing about myself. Especially when it's to talk about how great I am at doing something. You know, like when someone gives you a compliment and the first thing you do is disagree? Yep, that's how I feel about this "About Me" message. So instead of writing about all my accomplishments, I am just going to write and see what happens. First however, I will tell you my actual name. It's Page Hope McKay. Pretty snazzy, huh?

From the title up above, you can clearly see that I am a Wedding and Portrait Photographer, and if you looked at my portfolio, you should know by now if you love my work or not. If you came to this section first, then stop reading, and immediately go back and look through my pictures. If you did that already, and are now at this section, you are most likely trying to learn more about me and make certain that I am not a serial killer or something.  Well let me ease your mind. I am not a serial killer! In fact, I am not even a bug killer. Just ask anyone. I am so afraid that if I kill a bug it will somehow survive and crawl all over me. And if that happened, I would run around like a lunatic screaming at the top of my lungs. Once I fell off my bathroom counter onto the floor when I saw a little baby roach come out of the sink drain. Don't ask what I was doing on the counter, just feel bad that I fell. Enough about bugs.

So since I started Page Hope Photographer something crazy happened; I developed a love for photographing Weddings! I know it's amazing, because I am amazed by that statement. If you knew me, you would know that I was so annoyed at the idea of planning my own wedding, I opted for the Justice of the Peace and a nice dinner out. Weddings and I just never got along. But photographing them has made me love weddings more than I should.

Before the idea of working as a wedding photographer came about, I thought it seemed like an impossibly hard job that required hours of standing, and dealing with emotional brides or rude guests. But I was wrong! Really wrong! There is something about photographing a wedding that calms my soul. The beauty of the day and the optimistic love that is being shared all around. Oh and the Suits, the Dresses, "The Dress!" All the decor, the venue! I could go on and on. It's like being a part of a magical party you didn't have to plan. Even better, it's like being invited to a Fashion Magazine's photo shoot, and asked to be the main photographer. Okay kind of, but you get my drift. However, no matter how much I love all that other stuff, my most favorite part of a wedding are the moments. The moment the couple sees each other for the first time. The moment a mother sheds a tear, or a father gives a way his baby girl. The moment when friends and family cheer as the newly-weds kiss! These moments are not ones that can be duplicated or reenacted; they are the kind of moments where you got to get the shot before you miss it, and I get to be the one to do it!

Some couples say, "oh I don't need a Professional Photographer, my cousin Rick has a fancy camera and can take our pictures." Then Cousin Rick shows up with his fancy camera, starts out all right getting the basic shots. Then, as the day goes on Rick becomes sidetracked and starts talking to other guests, starts dancing with some ladies, has a few drinks, and two weeks later when you get your photos, you wonder where all those moments are. You want to know why no one took pictures of the kiss, the cake cutting, the exit from the ceremony, or the first look. And suddenly you remember, you hired Cousin Rick. No good Cousin Rick…See it's like those funny cable commercials. Don't hire Cousin Rick to shoot your wedding or you'll end up with blurry photos  with highlights of some chicks boobs, and maybe one clear picture of Uncle Harry asleep at a table. Don't let that happen and hire me... Seriously Hire Me. It makes more sense.

As you probably could tell from looking at my portfolio, I don't only shoot weddings I am also a Portrait Artist. The one reason I started my photography business, was to take beautiful pictures of families being together and having fun. That is why I not only take the traditional posed photos, but also the candid ones as well. Combining both makes for an interesting time and my clients always walk away saying that they had fun. In the end, I know that by approaching photography with a photojournalist view, I am able to help people tell their stories. And without our stories, what do we leave our loved one when we die?
